Overview

The CWD Fellows Program at Friends for Life Orlando gives healthcare professionals in their early careers an opportunity to see type 1 diabetes in the wild by spending a week with Friends for Life attendees and families. By exposing our Fellows to every aspect of life with type 1, from morning highs and lows to exercise-induced hypos to the emotional impact of a blood glucose reading that doesn't match expectations, we hope to help them bring greater understanding and compassion to the families who they will serve in their career.

Fellows will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with diabetes technology devices and other diabetes-related products. The fellows will have a variety of networking opportunities with faculty, CWD Board members, and industry partners throughout the week. Friday evening, there is an opportunity to share a poster with the FFL community and showcase their research or project. Friends for Life will be a week full of learning, making new connections, and inspiration from the people who are willing to share their experiences with us at FFL.
